It’s very good for learning how to do mental math quickly. You’ll need a good working memory if you want to be able solve longer problems in your head. You could still use this book to cram for math tests if you only want the techniques that you’ll use for writing down on a piece of paper(which isn’t really mental math but it can still help you) but if you want to be able to solve longer problems in your head, you’ll need to work for it. Overall I had no problems with it.

The concepts and examples are solid, but they’re shared by someone who isn’t a natural writer. Definitely worth the $3.49 I paid, but if this were a $10 book I would expect something more polished. 5 stars at this price point based solely on the concepts, but I would give a lower rating if it cost more.

I bought the book a couple of years ago and have taken a stab at it twice. It is easy to follow, the steps are exhaustively explained. The techniques are sound.
