Discover the Mental Math Secrets to Become a Human Calculator!

Schools taught you a way to do math that works when you have a pen & paper. But the same methods, takes a lot of effort when you have to do math in your head. This is because it uses a lot of your working memory (the short term memory used to complete a mental task).

For example, try to mentally multiply 73,201 x 3. It might take only a few seconds to multiply the individual digits. But if you multiply right to left the way you learnt in school, you will rely on your working memory. You will use it to recall every single digit you calculate to put it back together and get your final answer. You may even find yourself calculating some digits again because you forgot one of the numbers.

The difficulty increases further when you have to multiply larger numbers like 732 x 323. You will have to remember numbers across many steps. Mental arithmetic would be a lot easier to do in your head if you didn’t have to remember so many numbers.

In school, you learnt to write the down numbers as you calculate to free up your working memory. In mental math, there are many other ways to do the same thing.

One of the tricks to free up your working memory is to calculate from left to right instead of right to left. Try multiplying 73,201 x 3 from left to right, starting from 7 x 3 and ending with 1 x 3. You will find yourself calling out the answer before you even finish the whole problem.

You can use this trick to solve any math problem in the future. But we have just scratched the surface. There are many more tricks inside the book that make doing mental math as easy as reading a comic.

Here is a glimpse of what you will be able to master:

    • Mentally add large numbers(Example: Add 8739 + 5492 in your head in seconds)
    • Subtract numbers fast. (Example: Mentally subtract 7520 – 4998 without writing anything down)
    • Multiplication tricks to multiply three-digit numbers. (Example: Multiply 323 x 123 in your head)
    • Square large numbers in seconds (Example: Calculate 64 x 64 faster than a calculator)
    • Mentally divide large numbers (Example: Divide 601324 by 73 entirely in your head)
    • Quickly check a calculation with 90% accuracy without re-calculating
    • Overcome math anxiety
    • Cement your mental math skills with bonus weekly training.

This book only has the best techniques used by over 27 mental and Vedic math experts across the world. The techniques in this book are so simple you will wonder why nobody taught you this before. You will be able to master it, even if you have failed math in school.

Imagine waking up tomorrow being able to do lightning fast math in your head. Your family & friends will look at you like you are some kind of a genius. Since you do the calculations in your head, you will acquire better mental habits in the process. So you will not just look like a genius. You will actually be one.

I used to always have trouble following along with how I was taught to do math in school. I would jump to the answer using my own method, and be told I was right, but had to do it over again, lol.
This book was a great refresher for me of all the genius methods out there for learning math in a way that suits each person. The author says he used to hate math, and managed to self-teach himself all these wonderful time saving tricks. I can totally relate!
Thanks for this great how to book, I’ll definitely be passing on some of the methods to my two boys starting out in school.

As a very non-Math kind of person, I really appreciated the way that the author designed this book. Each chapter develops from the previous one, and there are easily-accessible links that will help you to practice and refine your Math skills. I also think it’s great that the author developed a website to assist people who are either struggling with Math or would like to participate in a community of fellow learners. I recommend this book for all types of Math people: beginners, intermediate, and advanced.

Simple examples. Good practice examples. The book is not difficult in reading and content. You have to be goal oriented and finish the book.

    4. sonny pham (verified owner)

The material in the book are tips and trick but they’re really good tips and tricks. My only irk with the book is how often the author tries to push his website on you.

    5. Ben (verified owner)

Good book, BUT some practice problem solutions are just completely wrong. 77 – 55 is not 16.

This is a great resource for mastering mental math skills though the order of the information may seem a little confusing at first. The best part is the access to help so that anyone who really wants to be comfortable working with numbers can succeed.

This book is actually helping me! I’m 69 years old and suffered a stroke a couple of months ago. This book is making me use my brain in a way I have not done before. I am glad I came across the great book and the website, too! If you want to learn something useful that you will use for a long time, you need this book!

    8. Anders (verified owner)

A bit slow in the beginning, worth continuing. Get the extra training material and complete it. Do or do not, there is no try

    9. Jordan (verified owner)

It’s very good for learning how to do mental math quickly. You’ll need a good working memory if you want to be able solve longer problems in your head. You could still use this book to cram for math tests if you only want the techniques that you’ll use for writing down on a piece of paper(which isn’t really mental math but it can still help you) but if you want to be able to solve longer problems in your head, you’ll need to work for it. Overall I had no problems with it.

So far so good with going through this book. It isn’t expected for you to read this book and then all of a sudden be able to do it. It gives you the tools to practice and over time as you do it it becomes easier to do. So far I’m enjoying this and my confidence with math as a whole is increasing. Thank you!

    11. çhris thompson (verified owner)

      Good book about mental calculations

    12. Jeremy (verified owner)

I’m about halfway through the book and find the concepts helpful. I’m a small business owner looking to improve my ability to do calculations on the fly to help with my financial decision making. I think this book should help.

The concepts and examples are solid, but they’re shared by someone who isn’t a natural writer. Definitely worth the $3.49 I paid, but if this were a $10 book I would expect something more polished. 5 stars at this price point based solely on the concepts, but I would give a lower rating if it cost more.

    13. Emily (verified owner)

If you already like math, this book is fun. It’s full of handy little tricks and tips that are so odd and unintuitive, it leaves you really wondering why and how does that work! I’m about halfway through and have already learned a ton!

    14. maplefog (verified owner)

This book has many practical calculation methods that subvert and break my imagination. It is really worth the money.

    15. A. Jaszcz (verified owner)

I bought the book a couple of years ago and have taken a stab at it twice. It is easy to follow, the steps are exhaustively explained. The techniques are sound. Actually remembering the numbers to be added/multiplied or whatever is the tough part. However, Abhishek provides a link to a good reference for that.

    16. Derek Greer (verified owner)

After just 2 chapters I started doing it and it was amazing. I tried it at the grocery store. It felt like a game and became self rewarding

    17. kevin Anderson (verified owner)

All these years I thought I was dumb and that my brain was just physically slow.
This book has helped me realise that it was never a hardware problem(my brain), it was a software problem(how I did the calculations). I’m starting to enjoy solving problems and the self esteme boost I get from it.

    18. Customer (verified owner)

Techniques use common sense principles, such as efficient management of working memory. Anyone can learn to do mental math quickly using these techniques!

Decent book. Similar to other i have read on mental math.
